Short version: Your financial data never leaves your browser. ShopsTally processes everything locally on your device. We don't have a database of your transactions, revenue, or business data — because we never receive it in the first place.
1. Who We Are
ShopsTally ("we", "us", "our") is a financial analytics tool for Etsy sellers, accessible at shopstally.com. ShopsTally is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Etsy, Inc. Etsy is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be explicit about what we don't do:
- We do not receive, store, or process your Etsy Payments CSV files on any server
- We do not collect your sales data, revenue figures, or transaction history
- We do not track which products you sell or how much you earn
- We do not share any financial data with third parties — because we never have it
All CSV parsing and financial calculations happen entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. No data is transmitted to our servers during this process.
3. Data We Do Collect
Waitlist / newsletter signups: If you choose to join our email waitlist, we collect your email address. This is stored with Beehiiv, our email platform. We use it solely to notify you about ShopsTally product updates and the Pro launch. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
Pro license purchases: If you purchase a Pro license, your payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your purchase and your email address to deliver your license key. We do not store your credit card details — Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
License key storage: When you activate a Pro license, your license key hash is stored in your browser's localStorage. This is local to your device and browser. We have no access to this data.
Basic site analytics: We may use Vercel's built-in analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data such as page view counts, geographic region (country level), and device type. This data cannot be used to identify you individually and contains no financial information.
4. Cookies
ShopsTally does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for your Pro license key (if applicable), which is strictly functional and never transmitted to us.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
- Beehiiv — email newsletter (beehiiv.com/privacy)
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
- Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy)
6. Data Retention
Email addresses collected for our waitlist are retained until you unsubscribe. Purchase records (email + license confirmation) are retained for up to 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. We do not retain any financial or transaction data from your CSV uploads — we never receive it.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Unsubscribe from our email list at any time
- Request deletion of your email address from our waitlist by emailing us
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you

8. Children's Privacy
ShopsTally is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date. For significant changes, we will notify waitlist subscribers by email.
